Family.

The first week we were home everyone was in love. We had hand sanitizer on every table in the house. Everyone would fight over who would hold him next!

We are so thankful and blessed to have such amazing families! Brody is one spoiled lil guy ! : )

My boy!

I have to get caught up with my postings! I don't want to leave anything out, So hopefully I can post a couple posts a day and get caught up!

Coming home with Brody was one of the best feelings. Coming home to meet everyone and starting a new chapter in life with my little boy.

My little 4 pounder was just skin and bones! Poor thing was so fragile! He has now fattened up , but then he was just a tiny thing! I wish I could go back and see him brand new just one more time. I think I'm going to be saying this throughout all the milestones in his life : ) He is already growing up so fast, by the second it seems!

Baby.

So, It seems like every post I write starts with "Its been awhile". It's time to change that! Here's a little recap of what has happened since my last post!
First off, the baby is here, happy and healthy! So thankful and blessed!

I want to Recap my labor experience, just in case I forget how Horrible it was.( I don't think I could ever forget, but what if?)

The first couple weeks of April I had appointments twice a week for stress tests. When I went in for my last ultra sound to check my placenta, (which turned out fine, Yay!) the baby was measuring very small, a month behind to be exact. So the Doctor made me appointments to come in every week to check my water levels. I only had two stress tests before the baby came! I had a regular checkup with my doctor April 12th and that is when he gave us the news. The baby wasn't growing anymore,so why are we going to keep him in? This is basically what his story was and he then sent me to be induced! Being Induced is such a crazy/scary feeling. I waited so long and anticipated everyday of when the time was going to come. I would drive myself crazy! When would I feel my first contraction? Or when my water would break? Not knowing when the baby is coming seemed like such a better feeling. I was excited for the day that something would happen, on its own, surprisingly. I was so terrified knowing that I was going to go into labor right here, right now.

Next We Drive 200 feet to the hospital, texting and calling everyone I knew, as well as my Mom and Husband. : ) I get there, get checked in and ready, get dressed in My Cute (NOT!) hospital gown and the Nurse didn't waste any time! They inserted a medicine into the cervix to start the loosening process. I don't remember what it was called exactly, all I remember was that it felt like a ball of card stock being shoved up my hoo! :/ Talk about unpleasant and uncomfortable! So, The medicine had to be in for 12 hours and then I would be checked to see if it was working. If it wasn't, I had to get another dose. Oh how I was praying it would! I was having mild contractions with the first dose, it was very hard to sleep! The Nurse gave me a medicine to relax me and put me to sleep. That nurse instantly became my bff. : )

So 12 hours comes along, I get checked, and I am only 1/2 dilated! Yep, a 1/2. I thought, Ohhhhh great this is going to be a looong day. So the nurse gives me another dose of card stock medicine (that's my new name for it). Two hours goes by and I start bleeding. I got up to go to the bathroom and blood and big clots of blood were falling on the floor. (Sorry ,tmi! It was quite shocking to me too) So the nurse checks me and the card stock fell out. The nurse said I was dilated to 4 and we were moving onto bigger a better things, Pitocin! Meanwhile, The doctor and nurse don't know why I am bleeding. I am going crazy as well as my family, thinking why aren't they checking my placenta? We ask the doctor (which wasn't my regular doctor. I hate Kaiser!) to check my placenta and he says he thinks the bleeding is from the card stock medicine. So they switch me into a new room, the "labor room" (Dun Dun Dun) to go ahead and start pitocin.

Within an hour I start gushing blood and the baby's heartbeat is slowly dropping with every contraction. I was having contractions every 3 minutes for a minute long. I tell my Mom, "Mom,I just felt a big gush, look." I will never forget the look on her face and the sound of her gasp "oh my god." (I am trying to remember everything that happened, but I was so out of it and in so much pain, I'm sure there is more I don't remember.) So my mom goes running down the hall looking for my nurse. After 5 minutes my Mom finally found her. The nurse then comes in, lifts my sheets to take a look and starts panicking and yelling for a doctor.

At that point my hospital room turned into a freak out room. So many people coming in and out. People Rushing around and talking. From doctors coming in and out, the doctor telling my family to get out, to the nurse shoving and turning me from one side and over to the next, over and over trying to get the baby's heart rate to change, to the gushing of blood, to the nurse checking me, to the pain of contractions, to my family members looking at me crying and not knowing what was going on and what was going to happen. I was just lying there thinking I am experiencing hell on earth. Did I mention my regular doctor always wanted to give me a C section from the beginning because of all the problems I had and what I faced during my pregnancy? He came in when I first got induced and told me the reasons why he was or would do a C section on me. He was working when I first got to the hospital, not when I actually went into labor. Sad. : (

So the doctor checks me, says I am dilated to 5 and that my placenta is fine. But he still doesn't know why I am bleeding so much, he just doesn't know what it is. It was so many bad things happening at once, I can't even recall what happened next exactly. The baby's heart rate was still dropping with every contraction. I was still gushing blood and in so much pain with the contractions as well. Also, The nurse wouldn't give me an epidural! When a contraction would start she would make me turn from side to side to try and find a position where the baby's heart rate wouldn't drop. If you have been in labor before, you know you cant even breathe during a contraction, let alone get up and move yourself around!

The doctor then tells the nurse to take me off Pitocin and see if the baby's heart rate will get better. She takes me get off and the heart rate does get better. I am still contracting pretty bad and still dilating, so the nurse finally gives in to giving me an epidural. As they are getting ready to give me an epidural I start to gush A LOT. The worse my contractions were, the more I gushed. The doctor checks me again, says the placenta is fine and just decides to break my water to see if it gets the show on the road quicker to get this baby out ASAP. So he breaks my water and it makes everything worse. As soon as he took his tool out I thought I was going to die. I didn't think these contractions could possibly get worse! I definitely thought wrong. There are no words to explain the feeling of contractions. Excruciating doesn't even do justice! Now I was dilated to 8. Breaking my water made my contractions worse which made the baby's heart rate drop to its lowest. It went down to 0 at one point. Luckily it came back up. Now my room was freak out room times 10. The doctors don't know what to do. They try to make things better by inserting a tube into the uterus to give the baby water. They also put another tube up with a monitor on the baby's head to measure the heart rate perfectly. They also put a cathader in. OH EM GEE right? Wish I could of seen that picture.

At this time the anesthesiologist comes in to give me my epidural. I am so happy to be getting this, but little did I know they were just getting my hopes up. Probably just shutting me up because I kept asking or screaming for it! : ) I get the epidural and the bastards only give me a drop every 15 minutes. I now know they were keeping the best interest in my baby, but at the time they were bastards! They didn't want the medicine to effect the baby's heart rate even more. Thank you doctors! : )

15 minutes after I get the epidural the doctor comes in and checks to see how things are going. I am STILL gushing water and blood with every contraction, and now dilated to 9cm. I'm STILL turning from side to side because the baby's heart rate is STILL dropping with every contraction. The doctor FINALLY says this baby is stressing me out, we are doing an emergency Cesarean NOW! HALLE-FREAKIN-LUJAH! I was the happiest woman alive! My husband... not so much, he was crying his eyes out! Poor thing! He was so scared for me and his baby. I was telling him, "Baby, it's going to be okay, I'm Happy!" The doctor saw him balling his out and said, "You better decide if you or her mom is going in with her because we are going in now!" My mom is crying saying , "Cody, are you going with her? Are you going to be Okay?"
He then says yes hes going with me and the nurse then says to him,"It will be okay daddy, Ill be in there with you!". And we were off, strolling down the hallways of the hospital to the Cesarean room. My mom grabs my hand as she is going the opposite way and says, "Good luck" with her quivering voice.

We get into the Cesarean room and the doctors are running around rushing, counting things, and getting everything ready. Then the anesthesiologist gives me my spinal and the baby was out in 10 minutes! It turns out the umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby's neck 3 times! When the doctors pull him out I hear them say,"What a stinker!" They also named him turtle because the cord looked like he was wearing a turtleneck! So that's the reason why his heart rate kept dropping. Each contraction was tightening his neck, making it drop.

Now that the baby was out,I could only be so thankful it was all over with and that my angel was here and healthy! And of course hearing my husband yell to me,"Baby,he has all his fingers and toes!" HaHaHa, Men!

This experience was definitely an experience of a lifetime. An experience only mothers can have. The most amazing feeling and happiness attaining from something so frightening and terrible. So bittersweet. Something I will go through again in a heartbeat. Something so worth it!

Almost time!

All of the "busyness" of the past couple months has been great! The January Birthday party was great! It was Cody's 25th Birthday and his mom got him a huge basket of 25 things ! Anything to do with 1985, being 25years old, 25th anniversary.. etc.. It was pretty cool : ) I Cant believe he is 25 already. Seems like yesterday we just graduated high school, running around the city, and being youngly engaged. Crazy how time flies! Cant wait for more birthdays, growing old with him. Hes my love <3.>

So February was pretty hectic! With Competitions, to baby showers, to birthdays. Every weekend was filled with some event! My baby showers were amazing! I got so many fabulous gifts! Big thanks to everyone who came and celebrated with me! Cody and I got a chance on Valentines Day for some time to ourselves! We had a lunch date, and went to a movie! Saw Dear John. Good movie, bad ending. Heard the book was way better! But...Any movie with Channing Tatum is a movie worth seeing : ) With the baby showers over, we have organized Brody's room and got everything put together! This kid has so many clothes! I swear he has one onsie for everyday, hes probably not going to wear the same onsie twice. LOL. They are all so cute and I can imagine snuggling him in them I dont want to take any of them back! Oh well, he can be a fashionisto already! haha...

King Shower, Grandma Rube, Mom, Carrie, Shan, Me, Helena & Sister Chantel.

Mama Belly!
Chantel and I ,first shower.
: )
Mom & I.
Ill have to post pictures of his nursery!

February we also celebrated my dads 57th and Levis 14th Birthdays! We hung out at home for my dads birthday and got Mcdonalds for dinner,(hes a home body & MickeyD's is his fav) It was a great way to ring in a new bday! For Levis, we went to D&B and played some games, and ate some dinner! Now that hes 14, no more chuckie cheese, on to bigger and better things like Dave & Busters. Haha, too funny.

Now that March is here we are in full swing baby mode! Ive been having my daily Braxton Hicks and its crazy how the time is almost here. Im anticipating it so much, I just wish he would come now! Everyday I just think what i my water breaks, what if I start bleeding (placenta privia), what if I just start contracting. It seems like my head is going to explode thinking about when this baby is going to actually come! I have an appt. next week and and ultrasound after that. I do have minor placenta privia, so they are checking up with an ultrasound in 2 weeks. If I still have it then I go in the next week for a C-Section! AH 3 weeks, I could be having him! They dont want me going into labor with placenta privia so I would mark in my little black book, having a baby! Haha, so crazy! I really just want him to be here already! But I know I just need to relax and wait and savor this time to myself. : ) But its still hard! lol.

So this weekend was a very fabulous relaxing weekend. We cuddled on the couch last night, eating snacks and watching the Oscars. That's one of my fav things to do with him! Just relax! Cody and I have been picking up everything we need for the baby lately. It seems like we live at Babies R Us and the Bub isn't even here yet. But we finally got everything , so we think, and we are officially ready for him! So this weekend maybe we can not take a trip running around & shopping

and just relax together before he comes. Ah , sounds so nice!

Hopefully I can come on here one more time before he comes! Or maybe my next post he will be here ! : ) Until then....

Much Love,

Tal

Its been awhile...

So I guess the Holidays got a little to busy for me to be on here blogging my life away! Haha. We were definitely busy indeed. When you have a family of 20 and they all are off work for 2 weeks and are all in the same house for 2 weeks, things get a little busy and time consuming! But it is The best kind of time!
So December was mainly spent shopping with my sister everyday until we finished getting ALL of our gifts. It seemed like we were so used to just going out everyday and spending everything that we just started buying everything...stuff people really didn't need. haha... its okay though, splurging is only okay for Christmas right? RIGHT. And of course December was filled with family gatherings!
I also went to my routine doctors appt at the end of December. They say this time it looks like my placenta is too close to my cervix, so I had to have 2 ultrasounds to snap some pics and wont know the results until my January appt. *Keeping fingers crossed* If I do have placenta privia it will be long days and nights of a whole lot of nothing! Boo. : ( Sounds so not fun, but I will definitely do what I gotta do! Praying everything will be okay!

January has been great so far! We had a great new year! My preggo butt fell asleep at 10:30 and Cody had to wake me up to give me my news years kiss. Haha, So sweet. We just hung out at home on new years with the family, ordered pizza , wings and watched movies. It was fab.
We just celebrated my moms 54th Birthday! My sisters and I pitched in and got her practically everything. We got her, HER OWN ipod touch. Everyone in my family has one and she has been addicted to playing games on everyone Else's, so that was a perfect gift for her!

We have a busy month and a busy year this year! Ive never been so excited for a year like this one! 2010 I have high hopes for ya! Ive been getting my baby shower together, getting my girls ready to compete in San Jose next weekend, We have out annual January Birthday dinner coming up with the King family. Theres 4 bdays in one week so we celebrate them with one big dinner! Im so excited for this year mainly because of the baby. I cant wait for this little bun to come! I really think his time to come is the perfect time! My due date is in April, so Ill have enough time to get to the gym to be ready for summer! Haha, is that sad Im already thinking about that..
Im excited to spend summer with our boy, going to the beach, camping trips, then his first holidays will come and he will be somewhat old enough to enjoy them! Ah, I cant wait. I hope everything until then goes Well. Im nervous and really excited at the same time. I just hope everything will go smoothly with delivery!

Ok so, I think Ive blabbed enough. Ill come back soon and update ! Hopefully sooner than later!
Ciao!
